Happy Half Birthday!

I can't believe Alex was born six months ago today! I can hardly wrap my head around the fact that she is half a year old. I love you so much my little Ali-girl, and our house is so full of love now that we are a family of four! You are such a wonderful baby, and we are so lucky to be your parents. Jake, you have been such a wonderful loving brother to Alex and she loves you so very much. My heart overflows with love!

And now a video of Jake, from back in April. This one cracks me up. (Please be aware that this was our kitchen during mid-renovation, and now this obligates me to do a before/after update.)

Alex was particularly chatty today. I captured her on video, discussing politics, the world of sports, and the latest celebrity gossip. She really can't understand why those Jersey Shore people are getting so much publicity. I think she has a special message for Snookie in there somewhere. Enjoy her video.

Melts my heart

I changed the sheets on Jake's bed right before bedtime tonight. I saw his stuffed animals on the floor, and as an afterthought, tossed them onto his bed. I read him his story, kissed him goodnight and closed the door. When I went in to check on him an hour or so later, this is what I found. I ran downstairs to grab a camera and record my sweet little boy with the stuffed animals he had tucked sweetly, gently into bed. And my heart absolutely melted.
