One Step at a Time..

Jake is officially walking! I will try to get photos ASAP, but for now, he is stringing together 8-10 steps, getting halfway across a room, falling down, balancing and standing back up. He is all over the place! Now the fun begins.... lol

Poop. And more poop.

So lately, Jake has really enjoyed pooping just about everywhere but his diaper...

The other day, my friend Jen was on the receiving end of a most disturbing conversation:
Jen: So what are you up to?
Me: Oh, just trying to change Jake's diaper before I put him to bed.
Jen: Yeah, Emily is still up too.
Me: He just crawled away from me without a diaper.
Jen: That's not good.
Me: He's just going to sit in Ruthie's dog bed. He loves being in there.
Jen: Oh yeah?
Me: Yeah, it's fun... Boy, he's grunting really hard in there.
Jen: Uh-huh.
Me: Jake... did you just-- Did you POOP in Ruthie's bed???! Jen, He POOPED in her BED!
Jen: (Hysterical laughter)
Me: I gotta call you back...

And then today during bathtime, he did the old "lean back and grunt" routine. Seconds later, I was scooping a big old corn log out of the bathtub. Gross. This kid is banned from eating corn for the rest of the summer, cause I'm just sick of all the poop clean-up I've had to do lately. Not to mention poor Ruthie dog....

P.S. - I can't belive I just googled the word "poop" to get images for this post. EEEeeeewwww!!!! There is some really scary stuff on the Internet...

CONGRATULATIONS CHRIS!!!!

I am soooo happy to announce to the world that my brother-in-law Chris was just drafted in the Major League Baseball Players Draft by the Colorado Rockies !!!! YEAH!

Even before I met Chris (seven years ago!), I remember Ralph telling me what a good baseball player he was. Chris was only probably in junior high school then, but I asked Ralph if Chris was good enough to get drafted someday and I remember Ralph telling me that Chris - even at such a young age - had all the tools that it took to be a professional baseball player. Here we are all these years later, after seeing Chris grow bigger and stronger and work harder and harder each year to achieve this most lofty and ambitious goal, and we couldn't be more proud of him.

I know how much the American Pastime means to the whole Vasami family and I am SOOO proud of all the work Chris (and the whole rest of the family!) has done to get him to this most wonderful day. Love ya Kiddo! We are so happy and we all know how much you deserve this!!!!

FINALLY!

No, not sold, just finally on the market... Ok, quick, somebody buy it now!!!

Shake that baby booty!

I hope this works, cause it's pretty cool and I just spent an hour on it. :) This was Jake dancing back and forth while he stood up on his corn popper toy, at my parent's house last weekend for Memorial Day. (Captured on the high-speed mode on my new (still) camera, and then made into an animated gif file.)

Also captured images of Jake standing up without holding on to anything. Still not walking... 14 months already... any day now??

In addition to dancing, Jake's hobbies also include... um... head-butting the dog. LOL. This kid cracks me up!!!
