One of my favorites so far. I knew as I was shooting this that it was a keeper. I love that!

I put on a Baby Einstein video for Jake this morning as I was buzzing around the house, trying to clean up our pigstye and get ready for the yard sale next weekend (come one! come all!). I came back in the house from letting Ruth out to go potty and found Jake asleep in his highchair, using his fleecy teddy bear as a pillow! It was just about the cutest thing on earth. I had to restrain myself from making high-pitched "aawwhhh awwwwhhh" noises and biting his chubby cheeks. Instead I grabbed my camera and snapped away.

He is holding his bottle by himself now! Notice that when he holds the bottle by himslef, he shoves the ENTIRE nipple into his face! If it would fit, he'd force the whole damn bottle in there. How he does not choke is beyond me. I try to ease it up, but he still forces it down his throat. When I held his bottle for him, he sucked on it like a normal baby. But now, JAKE is in control! Oh, I have started to add a spoonful of rice cereal or applesauce to his bottle lately, to get him used to the taste so that he might start accepting the baby food again. He knows something is up, but he is still drinking the bottles anyway.

In other big news, Jake is also SITTING UP by himself! Woo-hoo! AND... he is almost saying his first word!! He grimaces and makes this "dadadadadada" noise when he gets tired. I can't get him to do it in front of anyone but me and the dog, and when I try to record it on my cellphone or on Ralph's voicemail, he stops. Of course. But nice big milestones, and we welcome them!

What fantastic pictures. He's such a handsome little man! (all our babies were blessed with good looks! Must be the genes.) I say the black and white pic would make a great Christmas card!

Don't know if it is the camera, my computer or my eyes, but is Jake's eye color changing? In these pics they look less blue and more like gray, maybe leaning towards greenish....like his momma's?
As always, your pics are gorgeous as is Jake!
Nah, still blue. Think they might stick! The wall behind Jake in the second picture is blue as can be, but both have taken on a greenish hue in this photo. My white balance is probably off (sorry, photography mumbo jumbo to most of you).
