7 Months old!
Jake is 7 months old today! We can't believe how fast these 7 months have gone by so far! New pictures coming soon - we had a nice time carving pumpkins last night and we are really looking forward to Jake's first Halloween! Grandma Mary Ellen and Mema Mary will be coming to help Jake enjoy his first Halloween - we can't wait! We will also be taking Jake and Ruthie to see Laura Novak for special Halloween portraits tomorrow morning!

I know, Kelly -- can you believe it has been that long since our little boys were born and we were roommates??? Seven months went much more slowly during pregnancy. And pretty soon, it will be 9 months and I will STILL be fighting all this "baby weight" (okay, and Hershey's Nuggets might deserve a bit of credit, too). By the way, how much more fun would we have NOW if we were roommates?!? We were both cordial to each other, but I had no idea how much I would enjoy your humorous observations and sarcasm. :)
Ha! I was just on my best behavior in the hospital - must have been all the sedation medication! We'll have to time our next pregnancies accordingly so we can be roommates again! :) Give Connor a big kiss from me - in honor of being seven months and one day old!
P.S. - My baby weight battle will be severly challenged in the next few days - let's hope those trick-or-treaters clean us out!!!
The "problem" now is that since we have a child that will be trick-or-treating every year we will have candy in-flows, and we will not avoid having candy in the house at Halloween (even if the trick-or-treaters clean us out like last year). It's a real shame that Jake won't be able to eat his candy this year (or next year either). I guess we'll just have to help him out...it will be tough, but I am sure we'll get through it somehow! I will say this about kids--they provide a great reason to use them for "candy laundering", hayrides, trips to the toy store (did anyone see the new "Rocky" action figures??) and other such benefits to the parents that we otherwise may not be able to get away with!
